About Bowdon R.U.F.C.

Bowdon RUFC began this current version of its Mini & Junior sections following the formation of last seasons U14, U15 & U16 sides. With the help of a number of interested parents, alongside current and past players, Saul Loggenberg galvanised his helpers into an effective and passionate team of coaches and assistants. Behind the scenes Cheshire Representative Mark Jordan worked diligently to achieve the RFU Community Rugby Seal of Approval.

Following a summer planning for the new season Chairman of the Mini & Juniors Tom Sloan has augmented this team of coaches, assistants, helpers and volunteers and today provides a facility for children in age groups from U6 through to U17 (Junior Colts). The Junior Colts have a number of players in the Cheshire squad with more knocking on the door.

The RFU Continuum is followed by Bowdon RUFC such that U8 players can enjoy playing TAG rugby as a fun introduction to the basics of the game. From U9 players are introduced to contact in a controlled environment as they move towards developing the full 15 a side game.

Last season Bowdon RUFC staged the U7 Cheshire Cup Competition, which was a great success, and will do so again this season with the use of the facilities of the new clubhouse. With tours, summer camps, family days, festivals and social events all in the pipeline this season promises to be even more exciting and one not to miss.

With this in mind the club as a whole actively encourages and welcomes all new players and their parents to become involved and enjoy to the fullest extent the wonderful game of rugby union and Bowdon RUFC to its maximum.
